Hannah Crawls

She crawls! She crawls! Yeah! For atleast 3 weeks now, Hannah has been happily sitting up on her own and shuffling around, which includes dragging/sliding herself forward. She would get up on all fours but would only go backwards, running into and under things - lol. Yesterday, though, at her grandparents she finally took more than one step forward. Now she happily crawls, foerward and backwards two days before her 8th month birthday :-)

Isn't she cute? She turns 8 months tomorrow and is growing so fast!

Snowy Easter Morning!

OK, so they celebrate what is called Second Easter Day here, which is great because it means we always have the day after Easter off from work to spend with the family :-)
Anyhow, it is spring here and yet we woke up to sunny skies AND snow!!! We both have decided the snow is so fun and pretty and we much prefer it to rain - any day!! I also added these photos of Hannah wiggling to a more "comfortable" position in her high chair the other day. so cute

Hannah loves Daddy

This is so funny! Hannah wiggled over to Matthijs, sat up and then started loving his leg - while he was standing. It was so funny! She actively sits up on her own now - yay! And this morning we saw her try to stand up using the side of the coffee table - she got half way up!

Hannah Jumping

For those of you who follow this blog, you may notice that a few months back Hannah was also in a jumper (a tigger jumper), mostly sucking away on the sides - lol. Now you can see her at 7 1/2 months. It seems a much better age for her jumper. Now she enjoys bouncing away. Of course, by the time I taped her, she had already bounced quite a bit and was starting to slow down. It was still fun to figure out how to make and post this little video clip. I hope you enjoy!

Below are also a couple pictures of her in it. She loves to clap now (wish I got that on tape) and does it constantly. Yesterday she also suddenly went from her belly to sitting up - all on her own! We were very proud :-) She is still working hard on her crawl and can get up on her knees, but only manages to move backwards before falling - lol. It is very entertaining to watch. We are also working on picking up small raisen size crackers and feeding herself. She can pick them up easily enough (both with her whole hand and her pointer finger and thumb), but I can't get her to put them successfully in her mouth. She just opens her mouth wide and waits - lol.

Meanwhile, she is getting a little more fussy again (nothing major) and it feels like the beginning of two teeth are working their way through on the top front of her mouth (to match her two bottom front teeth). Meanwhile, I started my new job and simply love it. It feels like a great fit for me, even though the commute is long. We found a fabulous private international English school (which offers the IB diploma) just five minutes away from my work. We are visitng it in a few weeks and then will apply to get Hannah on the waiting list for when she turns 4 - early, I know, but it is competitive and so necessary. I am excited that it is so close to my work!

Clapping Hands

No new photos this time, but I just wanted to happily share that this Wednesday, Oma and Opa (Hannah's grandparents in the Netherlands) were privileged enough to witness Hannah clapping for the first time!!! She has been happily doing it since and learned it from the fun "If You are Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands" Song :-))

Seven Months old Already!

Ok, technically Hannah doesn't have a 7 months birthday because there isn't a Feb. 30th - lol. So, between yesterday, 29 Feb, and today, 1 March, she turns 7 months!! Here are some pictures from us hanging out as a family last night and this morning. We took some cute bath photos too, but none appropriate to post...still there are some cute ones of her just after in her bathrobe! The cats have gotten closer as well :-))))))) Hope everyone is doing well!
