February 2009

For the past couple weeks we have been enjoying my mom's visit. Hannah especially benefited - as she excitedly ran to an extra lap to repeatedly read her stories. Hannah loves to read. All she wants is for someone to read to her or for her to sit in her chair and read to herself - all day! I love it. She is especially enjoying the film, Elmocize, that my mom brought. The above video clip shows Hannah working out to it. She watches the whole thing and tries to do it. Its simply adorable. Anyone who knows me and my passion for both reading and fitness can imagine how beyond proud I am - lol. She also loves to try and do head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes - lol

We also enjoyed a trip to the Rotterdam zoo (which is a good one) and I've also posted some of those photos.

I've also posted photos of my mom reading with Hannah and Hannah reading to herself. Its so nice to have someone in my family get a chance to get to know my daughter better. Mom left Wednesday and she is already missed. We are all looking forward to our family trip to FL in October. From the extra help, Hannah has been quickly adding words to her vocabulary. She understands quite a bit in both English and Dutch. Its strange to imagine "starting over" with a new baby!

I am now finishing my 33d week of pregnancy and will be 34 weeks along as of Monday. That means tomorrow is my last day at work before maternity leave. I am enjoying my job a lot right now and although physically I am looking forward to more "restful" days, I will also miss work. I havent taken any photos of my belly this time around. Maybe Monday I will and post it - so everyone can see me at 34 weeks. My belly sticks straight out - like a large basketball. Similar to my pregnancy with Hannah, though, I haven't gained any weight anywhere else. So, aside from a larger stomach, I look pretty much the same as I did with her. I hope Christian arrives early though - I am very ready to not be pregnant - i miss my normal clothes!!

Next week Matthijs heads to Atlanta to speak at a conference. I am heading off to southern Portugal to stay at a beach resort with my friend and Hannah. It will be her first pool and beach experience - and I am very excited! I bought her a Hello Kitty swimsuit :-)

Otherwise, nothing too new here. Our work is willing to send us for two years to the NYC office, as of next April, but nothing will be 100% certain until September. They have promised that if the economy doesn't prevent anyone from going and Matthijs continues to perform well - the spot is ours! It would be GREAT to be back in the states - even if for only two years :-)

Hope everyone is doing well!!
