Gillette Castle, Connecticut

Over the summer my two nieces visited and helped me watch the kids while I started up my law firm. They were a great help and fun to have around. On the weekends, we tried to take them to fun places as a sort of thank you. On this Saturday, Sarah opted to stay home and chat on facebook, but Alex came along! We drove to the eastern part of CT and saw a "castle" style home built in the early 1900s by a wealthy actor known for often playing the role of Sherlock Holmes. It was fun to see and the landscape was beautiful. On the way back, we rode on the ferry to cross the lake :-)
