Halloween

wow - lots of pictures for this one. We started out on the night before Halloween by going to our friend's house for a FUN Halloween dinner - pumpkin pizzas! Then, all dressed up off we went trick or treating in the ex-pat area of Amstelveen (next to Amsterdam). It was super busy with lots of children from all over the world. The next day we hosted our annual Halloween Party! The best part is decorating the house and thiking of all of the fun Halloween treats for the party. Setting the table is the best of the decorations and the kids get excited. We enjoyed playing pumpkin bowling, making crafts and eating lots of sweets :-) We even had a fun Halloween costume contest! It was extra special to have our friend, Lori, out staying with us for a bit - all the way from Seattle, Washington. Later on, Lori made us dinner in a pumpkin! It was awesome and such a fun, cool dinner idea :-) For November, we made pizzas in the shape of a pumpkin and a turkey - inspired by our friend Ruth and her Halloween dinner. All in all, the kids looked so cute. They got to trick or treat 2 x - once with the ex-pats and the other time in our own neighborhood when we discovered some of the Dutch experimenting with the fun US tradition. Sweet! The kids happily gave the Sugar Plum Fairy their treats in exchange for fun gifts, keeping only one treat for themselves.

Apple picking!

We enjoyed a fun trip to the farm to pick apples and pumpkins. We made homemade American apple pie for dessert - yummy! We picked out a couple pumpkins for our Halloween party in October. We were soo excited to find some good pumpkins!!

Easter

Hannah loved her new Easter dress! Christian didn't care about clothes yet - still fights all new outfits for church - lol. Spring was grogeous in CT! They also enjoyed their cousin, Fenna, visiting from the Netherlands.

Spring arrives!

Ahh...the snow has finally left and we are outside in the playground again!
