Stamford Nature & Science Ctr + Canning

Today was another fun fall familly day! We woke up to beautiful sunshine and cool, breezey weather :-) After enjoying our Saturday morning big breakfast with eggs and pancakes and a small FHE lesson - we went to the Stamford Nature & Science Center. This park is a favorite amongst the little ones, with a great playground and a wonderful farm to roam. The kids like the freedom to run on the sidewalks and watch all the different animals. They have the traditional cows, horses, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. They also have llamas, chincillas, turtles, peasants, geese, swan, frogs, snakes, otters - lots to explore! Alex seemed to especially enjoy it when a black duck persistently pecked at her feet ;-)
Afterwards, we dropped Alex off with the other youth at the Church to head up to NY and the Camp Liahona up there for an evening of fun :-) Meanwhile, we bought some sugar pumpkins and decided to learn how to cut them up and can them! (Yes - we have read the USDA warning on this...). BTW - my homemade applesauce turned out yummy...
