Happy Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween everyone! This past Saturday we threw a pre-school Halloween party and it was loads of fun! For the past 4-5 weeks we have been preparing. We went to Lyman Orchards and picked out several pumpkins. A few weeks later, Hannah and Alex helped me make handmade invitations for both Hannah and Alex' friends. Then, the Sunday afternoon before we enjoyed making all kinds of homemade decorations. Thanks to friends, Hannah, Matthijs, Alex and her friend Lia we enjoyed yummy Halloween cupcakes, green rice krispy treats, and Halloween shaped sugar cookies (I made those!).
Matthijs' parents even joined in the fun by getting their first Halloween costumes. Coen won the adult costume contest! The kids had fun decorating pumpkins, showing off their wonderful costumes in a parade, playing pumpkin bowling, bobbing for apples and running around outside! It was a lot of fun and now we are looking forward to the Trunk or Treat this coming Saturday at the church :-)

Look at you Lisa! The party sounds like it was tons of fun. Way to go! I have still never planned and pulled off a children's party on my own. Maybe for Rachel's 5th... :)
